The Sociology Department provides a master's program concentrating on social justice, designed for students aiming to continue toward doctoral or legal studies, as well as those seeking to apply sociological principles across various professional domains. Enrolled students are required to complete graduate-level coursework and produce a thesis aligned with one of four key areas: criminology, critical race & ethnic studies, environmental sociology, or political economy & globalization. This curriculum emphasizes critical analysis, exploring social issues through the framework of power dynamics. Graduates will emerge with a solid grasp of fundamental sociological theories and research methodologies.
