The Sociology Department provides a master's program concentrating on social justice, designed for students aiming to continue toward doctoral or legal studies, as well as those seeking to apply sociological principles across various professional domains. Enrolled students are required to complete graduate-level coursework and produce a thesis aligned with one of four key areas: criminology, critical race & ethnic studies, environmental sociology, or political economy & globalization. This curriculum emphasizes critical analysis, exploring social issues through the framework of power dynamics. Overall undergraduate grade point average (GPA) of 3.00 or higher.

Minimum score requirements for admission to the Graduate School are:
a total score of 80 on the internet-based TOEFL (iBT),
a total score of 550 or equivalent on the paper-based TOEFL (PBT), or
a 6.5 overall band score on the IELTS.
