Pursuing a Rehabilitation Science concentration equips students with comprehensive knowledge of fundamental and practical health science components, including social sciences, biomechanics, physiology, neuroscience, and engineering—all focused on enhancing human functionality and environmental interaction. Learners will refine their abilities to convey scientific concepts through both spoken and written communication, preparing them for careers in academia, research institutions, governmental organizations, private sector companies, and public policy. This Rehabilitation Science concentration is exclusively available to students already admitted to the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program within the Byrdine F. Lewis College of Nursing and Health Professions.

GRE scores: An official score on the Graduate Record Examination General Test is required for admission to Ph.D. programs in the College of Education and Human Development. While it is important to note that GRE scores are used along with other criteria established by departments and programs when determining admission, a score of 155 or higher on the verbal section and 151 or higher on the quantitative section will make the application more competitive

In addition, if English is not the primary language, official TOEFL or IETLS scores must be submitted to Georgia State University. TOEFL scores should be submitted using school code 5251 and IETLS scores can be submitted by selecting Georgia State University Graduate Admissions. Applicants must submit a minimum TOEFL score of 79 or a minimum IETLS score of 6.5 for graduate admission. Applicants who completed a degree within the United States, will not be required to take the English proficiency exam.
