Students starting as Freshmen at Georgia State can enroll in the BIS in Health Sciences program once they complete 45 credit hours with at least a 2.5 GPA to prevent graduation delays. Transfer students fulfilling admission criteria may declare the BIS in Health Sciences when accepted to Georgia State University. No additional admissions process exists for the Health Sciences BIS degree. This concentration aims to equip graduates with skills to meet the growing technological demands of modern healthcare systems.

The program's objectives include:

Graduates with a B.I.S. in Health Informatics will comprehend systems and procedures related to Clinical Informatics, Health Information Technology, and Health Administration Management.
Health Informatics B.I.S. graduates will possess the ability to evaluate and derive meaningful insights in Clinical Informatics, Health Information Technology, and Health Administration Management fields.
