The Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies (BIS) in Gerontology provides students with comprehensive knowledge about aging throughout the lifespan. Gerontology classes incorporate multiple academic fields to introduce students to aging-related topics, scientific understanding, and investigations into aging trends, elderly populations, and the growing demands of our aging population.
Professors affiliated with the Gerontology Institute represent diverse fields including commerce, legal studies, social and natural sciences, as well as healthcare and social work professions. They contribute varied, cross-disciplinary viewpoints to our educational offerings while conducting extensive research in domains like elder care facilities, senior housing solutions, cultural aspects of aging, wellness and health inequalities, cognitive functions, post-career life, aging in minority communities, family caregiving across generations, and senior-focused business strategies.
