Sign Language Interpreting is a multidisciplinary area that integrates advanced skills in both American Sign Language and English with expertise in linguistics, translation, interpretation, and professional ethics. The Sign Language Interpreting program equips students with both theoretical foundations and practical abilities required for careers in ASL/English interpretation. Learners gain assurance in their language capabilities, mastery of cultural and linguistic analysis, and the communication skills necessary for establishing an effective professional practice. For those pursuing work with deaf or hard of hearing individuals, the B.A. in Deaf Studies offers specializations in either Deaf Education or Sign Language Interpreting.

Proof of completion of the equivalent of English 1101 and/or 1102 with a grade of C or better at an accredited U.S. institution
Minimum scores on one of the following approved English-proficiency tests:

IELTS International English Language Testing System - 6
