The Master of Science in Cybersecurity program consists of 32 credit hours, including a 5-credit practicum project. Students across all specializations will complete two foundational courses covering both technological and policy aspects of cybersecurity. Additionally, they must select one cross-disciplinary core course from another specialization (for example, policy students take a course from cyber-physical or information security tracks). A mandatory 5-credit practicum project with standardized learning objectives completes the core requirements. Individual departments determine their specialization's required and elective courses (totaling 18 credits), as outlined in the following section.

While all three schools grant the same MS Cybersecurity degree, each specialization has a distinct focus based on the offering department. Specifically:

The School of Computer Science (CS) provides an information security specialization.
The School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) focuses on cyber-physical systems.
The School of Public Policy (PUBP) specializes in cybersecurity policy.
