The Master of Science in Cybersecurity program consists of 32 credit hours, which includes a 5-credit practicum project. Students across all specializations will complete two foundational courses covering both technological and policy aspects of cybersecurity. Additionally, they must select a third core course from a different specialization track (for example, policy-focused students would take a cyber-physical or information security course). A mandatory 5-credit practicum project with shared learning outcomes across departments serves as another core component. Individual academic units determine their specialization's required and elective courses (totaling 18 credits), with details outlined in the following section.
While all three schools grant the same MS Cybersecurity degree, each unit provides distinct specializations:
The School of Computer Science (CS) focuses on information security.
The School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) specializes in cyber-physical systems.
The School of Public Policy (PUBP) concentrates on policy studies within cybersecurity.
