Drug delivery refers to the techniques used to administer pharmaceutical substances to produce therapeutic benefits in humans or animals. These patented formulation technologies alter how drugs are released, absorbed, distributed, and eliminated, enhancing treatment effectiveness, safety, and patient adherence.

Certain medications like peptides, proteins, antibodies, vaccines, and gene therapies often cannot be administered through conventional methods due to their vulnerability to enzyme breakdown or poor absorption into the bloodstream caused by their molecular characteristics. Consequently, many protein-based and peptide medications require alternative administration methods such as injections or nanoneedle arrays.
