Focused on the efficient and smooth combination of physical and analytical models with empirical, data-based approaches, System Informatics and Control (SIAC) seeks to establish a fresh scientific foundation for designing, evaluating, and managing intricate manufacturing and service systems. The SIAC team at ISyE unites researchers with varied expertise in manufacturing and service operations, quality and reliability engineering, diagnostics and predictive maintenance, industrial statistics and data analysis, as well as automation and process control. Members share a collective passion for creating quantitative models that merge data analytics with engineering knowledge integration, applying these frameworks to enhance complex manufacturing and service systems. The group pursues research across multiple domains such as manufacturing system evaluation, quality and reliability enhancement, healthcare and clinical decision support, power generation systems, and business intelligence analytics.
