The Algorithms, Combinatorics, and Optimization (ACO) program is a prestigious interdisciplinary initiative supported by the College of Computing, the H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering, and the School of Mathematics. Admission and completion requirements are exceptionally rigorous, with renowned faculty engaged in diverse research areas ranging from theoretical foundations to practical applications. The ACO curriculum includes core courses that establish a robust academic foundation, enabling students to pursue varied research opportunities. Unlike conventional academic structures, our program breaks down departmental barriers—any faculty member can mentor any ACO student, irrespective of their home department. The only requirement is excellence in scholarly output. Our graduates have achieved remarkable success, earning distinguished honors from numerous academic and professional organizations.
