The Bachelor of Science in Public Policy (BS PP) offers a comprehensive education blending analytical rigor with insights into diverse policy matters and the societal influences affecting public decision-making. The BS PP core curriculum equips students with essential knowledge in political, economic, and philosophical frameworks, along with robust quantitative and qualitative analysis techniques, while exploring the social and political factors influencing policy discussions and results. The program progresses from fundamental disciplines (including political science, economics, philosophy, and organizational theory) to research methodologies and data analysis, followed by in-depth examinations of specific policy challenges. Students specialize in two focus areas among environment and energy policy, science and technology policy, social and urban policy, philosophy, or politics and policy, with optional electives covering topics like information technology policy, bioethics, and regional development. Internships, research projects, and international study opportunities are available to all participants. The BS PP concludes with a yearlong senior capstone project where student teams collaborate with external organizations (such as the CDC, Marcus Autism Center, National MS Society, or Atlanta Food Bank) to address real-world policy issues.
Applicants must have International Baccalaureate Diploma.
