The Bachelor of Science in Literature, Media, and Communication (previously called Science, Technology, and Culture) stands as the inaugural undergraduate program within Georgia Tech's Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts. This curriculum provides comprehensive training in the diverse forms of representation that shape our technology-driven, interconnected society. Graduates emerge with robust theoretical knowledge and practical skills across various media formats including literature, cinema, gaming, comics, digital content, and technical documentation. Through mastering communication techniques spanning scientific, technological, and humanistic disciplines, LMC alumni develop the expertise to excel in education, corporate environments, and creative industries.
The LMC program structures coursework around six specialized tracks, with students selecting two concentrations for their primary focus. These pathways encompass Literature, Media Studies, Communication, Social Justice, Interaction Design, and Science/Technology/Culture. Such preparation enables internships in journalism, brand management, visual design, film production, and education policy. Numerous graduates advance to postgraduate studies in literary theory, communication research, or digital media, while others enter professional programs for law, healthcare, or social services. Career trajectories span creative fields like illustration and photography to advocacy roles, healthcare management, archival science, and cultural organization leadership.
Applicants must have International Baccalaureate Diploma.
