For over ten years, the Daniel Guggenheim School of Aerospace Engineering has consistently ranked among the nation's top five aerospace engineering programs, drawing top talent to our Atlanta campus. With a faculty of more than 40 tenure-track professors and over 1,300 students enrolled, the School offers a combination of extensive research, academic excellence, and teaching that is unmatched by most institutions. The School's origins trace back to the final stages of World War I, when the Georgia School of Technology provided short-term training for U.S. Army pilots. Our identity and heritage truly expanded in 1930, thanks to philanthropist Daniel Guggenheim's $300,000 donation to create an aeronautical research hub—one of seven such grants he awarded to institutions nationwide.
