The prestigious Master of Arts in Arab Studies (MAAS) provides interdisciplinary education covering politics, culture, history, economics, and languages of the modern Arab Middle East and North Africa, alongside intensive Arabic language instruction. Learners craft personalized study plans to gain specialized knowledge in key regional topics through five focus areas: Politics, Culture and Society, Development, History, or Women and Gender Studies. Beyond their primary specialization, students can choose from Georgetown's extensive Middle East Studies curriculum. MAAS enhances regional comprehension through its immersive Arabic program, enabling participants to achieve fluency. A distinctive feature allows students to strengthen their language abilities by enrolling in courses conducted exclusively in Arabic.
