The Master of Public Policy (MPP) program at the Trachtenberg School equips students to analyze complex data while studying the foundational theories that influence public policy across governments and global systems.

Beyond required courses, both MPP and MPA candidates select a specialized concentration aligned with their professional goals, choosing from established tracks or crafting a customized path with faculty guidance. Every TSPPPA graduate student undertakes a culminating capstone project for an external client.
The national security and foreign policy concentration focuses on decision-making for international relations, security matters, and peacebuilding. The curriculum includes defense policy evaluation, global institutions, military history and strategy, along with contemporary security challenges. Students also learn practical policy instruments like crisis negotiation and international diplomacy. This specialization draws from multiple disciplines including political science, history, economics, and international relations.
