The Maternal and Child Health (MCH) initiative at GWU's Milken Institute School of Public Health focuses on enhancing wellness for women, youth, and families through education, research, and policy. Our MCH MPH curriculum adopts a life course approach, recognizing critical developmental stages that offer both challenges and intervention possibilities. The program examines MCH through multiple lenses, combining biological, social, behavioral, and environmental factors that specifically impact women's and children's health globally.
GWU takes pride in training public health leaders dedicated to service and community improvement. These values form the foundation of our MCH MPH program, preparing graduates to become skilled health professionals. Our program equips Maternal and Child Health specialists to:
Evaluate healthcare requirements for women, children, and families.
Develop, execute, assess, and share health programs and research aimed at preventing disease and promoting wellness in these populations.
