The Master of Public Administration (MPA) is the established professional credential for careers in public administration, management, and service. While primarily tailored for public service professionals, it also benefits those working across government agencies, national organizations, advocacy groups, research firms, and private companies. The MPA curriculum explores management and policy challenges through intergovernmental and cross-sector perspectives, emphasizing analytical skills, critical thinking, and ethical considerations fundamental to public service.
Urban policy examines metropolitan-wide issues, particularly those prevalent in major cities and expanding inner suburbs. This specialization addresses urban challenges like fiscal constraints, poverty, crime, housing insecurity, racial disparities, urban sprawl, and transportation deficiencies. Students may, with advisor approval, complement these studies with related courses from other disciplines.
