The five-year combined Bachelor of Science and Master of Science program in Computer Engineering enables students to earn both degrees consecutively, with the master's requiring just one extra year beyond the standard four-year bachelor's program.
Alongside GW University's general dual degree policies, participants must fulfill these specific academic criteria:
Finish any of the department's Bachelor of Science programs, with the stipulation that two Technical Electives (totaling at least six credits) must be selected from graduate-level courses offered by the Electrical & Computer Engineering (ECE) Department. As per standard procedure, all undergraduate Technical Electives require advisor approval. Importantly, these two ECE graduate courses count toward both the bachelor's and master's degree requirements.
Complete eight additional graduate-level courses (24 credit hours total), all subject to advisor approval.
Combined degree students gain enhanced research opportunities during their undergraduate studies and have the option (though not obligation) to pursue a master's thesis.
Program admission requires a minimum 3.0 GPA, and students must maintain this GPA through their eighth semester to progress into the ninth semester of the combined program.
All applicants must meet with their academic advisors before submitting their program application.
