Our Fine Arts programs empower you to forge your unique creative path through fundamental coursework, exposure to varied artistic approaches, and immersive experiences rather than prescribed aesthetic guidelines. Students cultivate their artistic vision through hands-on studio work, guidance from accomplished faculty, and the dynamic cultural landscape of Washington, D.C., with its world-class museums and galleries.
The Corcoran and GW offer an ideal environment for students dedicated to advancing their creative journey within a rigorous yet nurturing academic setting. Attending an art school within a leading research university in an urban center provides unparalleled opportunities not found elsewhere. While maintaining intimate class sizes for meaningful dialogue and faculty interaction, students also collaborate with curators and researchers throughout D.C. and the broader university community. Our location places you steps away from globally recognized cultural institutions, local art happenings, and campus exhibition spaces like Gallery 102.
Our program suits those prepared to deeply explore their creative and research passions under the mentorship of nationally prominent artists and scholars. If you seek an environment that fosters artistic development while addressing contemporary studio and global concerns, the Corcoran and GW welcome you.
