The Social Justice and Human Rights (SJHR) specialization within the Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies program offers adaptable coursework, enabling students to concentrate on their most passionate advocacy areas. This curriculum establishes a robust theoretical framework for examining the societal, political, cultural, historical, and economic dimensions of various injustices and human rights concerns. Adopting a worldwide and inclusive perspective, it encourages students to develop and implement approaches for fostering fairness, justice, and compassion globally. Exceptional Mason undergraduate students can qualify for the accelerated dual-degree pathway, earning both their bachelor's degree and a Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies (MAIS) with a SJHR focus in less time by completing at least 144 credits successfully.
