Exceptional Mason undergrads can enroll in the combined bachelor's/accelerated master's program, earning both a BA/BS in their selected field and a Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies (MAIS) with a focus on social justice and human rights. This accelerated pathway requires completing at least 144 credits. The Social Justice and Human Rights (SJHR) specialization within the MAIS program offers flexible coursework, enabling students to concentrate on their most pressing concerns. The curriculum establishes a robust theoretical framework for analyzing the multifaceted social, political, cultural, historical, and economic dimensions of injustice and human rights violations. Taking a global, intersectional perspective, the program encourages students to develop and implement solutions for building a fairer, more just, and compassionate society.
