The Media Production and Criticism program offers courses divided into two main categories: production and criticism. Students can select their focus area from these two options-
Criticism courses teach students to analyze media thoughtfully and critically while exploring its various societal roles. The concentration requires four core courses that allow learners to apply different analytical frameworks, building a theoretical foundation for understanding media content, creation processes, and societal impacts.
Production courses provide fundamental skills relevant to contemporary media careers. Through four required concentration courses, students gain practical experience, technical expertise, and the ability to make informed decisions when working with evolving technologies and platforms including television broadcasting, mobile applications, digital streaming, corporate media, and social networks.
