The History department provides classes examining political, economic, social, and cultural aspects of history with a focus on worldwide perspectives and diverse cultural influences. Our curriculum spans regions from Eastern and Western Europe to Asia and the Americas. Learners will discover relationships between individuals, communities, historical events, and broader historical patterns and subjects.
Students will develop skills to evaluate primary and secondary materials critically and form well-reasoned historical conclusions.
Pursuing history serves as ideal groundwork for those aiming for careers in law, politics, public service, sociology, tourism, global commerce, library studies, or K-12 education. Contemporary students need worldwide awareness for their professional paths, along with basic knowledge and respect for the multicultural dimensions of today's society that evolved from historical events. Combining studies with anthropology, geography, and political science is highly recommended.
