The Sports Sciences program caters to students eager to train top-tier athletes as strength and conditioning coaches across high schools, colleges, and professional teams. This degree equips graduates with the knowledge to pursue certification as Strength and Conditioning Specialists via the National Strength and Conditioning Association exam. Housed within the Department of Nutrition, Food and Exercise Sciences, our program stands out nationally by offering advanced studies and research in both human nutrition/food science and exercise physiology/sports sciences. This interdisciplinary approach enables comprehensive exploration of how diet and exercise interact to promote health, combat chronic illnesses, and ensure food quality and safety.
