The field of sports nutrition is rapidly expanding, offering an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in exploring clinical nutrition across diverse settings. This specialized major combines elements from food and nutrition studies, giving students a comprehensive perspective on how dietary habits and physical activity influence athletic performance, overall wellness, and disease prevention. Initially, all enrolled students follow a non-thesis program, though qualified candidates may pursue a dietetic internship. Those wishing to switch to the thesis option need to maintain strong academic performance and secure approval from their interim advisor after completing their first term. Our Department of Nutrition, Food and Exercise Sciences stands out nationally by offering advanced studies and research in both nutritional science and exercise physiology. This distinctive structure enables interdisciplinary exploration of how nutrition and fitness work together to promote health, combat chronic illnesses, and ensure food quality and safety.
