Cybercrime encompasses any unlawful act that utilizes information technology. These offenses range from unauthorized data access and interception to data destruction, system interference, and identity fraud. Digital offenses and cybersecurity challenges have become significant priorities, impacting businesses, governments, and academic institutions at every level. Their importance has escalated as organizations increasingly connect their networks to the Internet. Students in Cyber Criminology will explore both computer applications for crime analysis and the methods criminals employ through digital means. Students pursuing the MS in Cyber Criminology (MS CC) degree will be admitted to and graduate from the Computer Science Department. Thus, the minimal admissions requirements are (1) an undergraduate GPA of no less than 3.0 and (2) a score of 1000 or greater on the combined verbal and quantitative portions of the GRE.
