The Juris Doctor program at the College of Law spans three years, starting with fundamental courses before advancing to contemporary theoretical and interdisciplinary studies. First-year students build a strong base in legal history, doctrine, processes, and analytical skills essential for advanced coursework. During the second and third years, students enjoy nearly complete elective freedom, choosing from diverse course offerings. These include purely theoretical classes, industry-specific studies (such as healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and sports/entertainment law), plus hands-on learning experiences that prepare graduates for careers in business, government, and legal practice.
The combined J.D./M.B.A. program, offered through the College of Law and College of Business, allows simultaneous degree completion. Prospective students must consult with the joint graduate pathway coordinator and submit required materials by June 1 after their first law school year. The coordinator then forwards applications to both colleges for review. Applicants with prior M.B.A. credits or those applying after their second law school year must secure written approval from the College of Law before pursuing the joint degree pathway.
