Our department's research covers all fundamental chemistry fields (Analytical, Biochemistry, Inorganic, Materials, Organic, and Physical) while promoting a strongly collaborative, interdisciplinary approach focused on Health Chemistry, Advanced Measurements & Analysis, and Energy & Materials Chemistry. Prospective students should review faculty research specialties in their preferred area to find suitable laboratories for their studies. We recommend direct communication between applicants and faculty members to discuss shared research interests and training possibilities.

The Ph.D. program usually takes 5.2 years to complete and involves core classes (18 credit hours), innovative research, published findings, and a dissertation defense before faculty. Doctoral candidates will work in cutting-edge research laboratories. Program alumni have achieved notable success securing academic, research, industrial, and professional roles both domestically and abroad.
