The BS/MS pathway in Social Science Education equips students to teach Social Studies at the middle and high school levels (grades 6-12). This comprehensive program covers diverse social science disciplines including U.S. history, global history, government studies, and economic principles, alongside specialized training in instructional methods. This integrated bachelor's-to-master's program combines undergraduate and graduate studies.
Students complete two years of advanced undergraduate courses followed by one year of graduate-level work. To qualify for the graduate portion, applicants must maintain a 3.00 GPA in their upper-level undergraduate courses. Graduates first receive a bachelor's in Social Science Education, conferred at the conclusion of their final spring semester. Successful completion of the graduate component leads to a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction, specializing in Social Science Education.
