Experts in Recreation and Tourism oversee venues, initiatives, and offerings that enhance quality of life by creating exceptional leisure experiences. The tourism and recreation sector plays a vital role in modern lifestyles, with billions invested yearly across public, private, and nonprofit organizations. A mandatory internship component bridges theoretical knowledge with hands-on practice, featuring both domestic placements and international opportunities from Ireland to Australia. Students can further broaden their horizons through specialized programs like the Summer Study Abroad in Leysin, Switzerland and Spring Exchange in Krems, Austria.

Professional development thrives through student groups - including the Club Managers Association, Eta Sigma Delta, Florida Hospitality Association, and PGA Golf Management Club - alongside numerous collegiate activities. Dedman's distinctive coursework aligns with Florida State's Garnet & Gold Scholar Society criteria. Substantial scholarship opportunities provide financial support throughout students' academic journeys.
