The Geography Department provides two distinct degree options that showcase the field's dual focus on social and natural sciences: a bachelor's in Geography and a newly introduced STEM bachelor's in Environment & Society. These programs share some common ground but diverge in their approach to human-environment relationships: Geography investigates how spatial factors influence human activities across urban, rural, and natural settings, whereas Environment & Society analyzes the reciprocal impacts between human systems and environmental changes. Students have the option to pursue both majors simultaneously, with up to eleven overlapping credit hours permitted. Additionally, the Department facilitates Pathways programs connecting either undergraduate major to the Applied Master's program in Geographic Information Science.
