The Accounting Department is dedicated to equipping students with the academic foundation and practical skills needed to launch and thrive in accounting careers. This dynamic field presents exciting prospects across public accounting, taxation, corporate finance, government agencies, and nonprofit sectors.
Future accounting professionals must be ready to navigate an ever-evolving business landscape. Beyond core accounting expertise, today's accountants need comprehensive business understanding. Critical competencies include effective communication (both oral and written), teamwork and leadership abilities, project and personnel management skills, and strong professional decision-making capabilities.
For CPA licensure in Florida and most states, candidates must fulfill education requirements extending beyond undergraduate studies. We strongly advise meeting these qualifications through our Master of Accounting (MAcc) program, which offers optimal preparation for professional accounting success.
