The College of Music serves as the central hub for numerous campus musical groups, including orchestras, bands, choirs, jazz ensembles, early music collectives, nine global music ensembles, and various chamber groups, alongside the Florida State Opera and Music Theater Program. Annually, the college presents approximately 350 performances and productions while frequently organizing national conferences, workshops, and events like the biennial Festival of New Music. Our distinguished history gives us valuable insight into artistic excellence and motivates us to maintain high standards. However, our true measure of success lies in how we serve you—the aspiring musicians who will fill our practice rooms, lecture halls, and studios. We welcome students at every level who are committed to reaching their full potential in professional training. We look for individuals who will enrich Florida State's vibrant musical community and value our college's welcoming atmosphere. Florida State University has held accreditation from the National Association of Schools of Music since 1930.
