For over half a century, Florida State University's Music Education program has set the national standard for training future educators and scholars.
Our undergraduate teaching candidates have maintained perfect job placement for 50 consecutive years, while our alumni hold prominent positions at universities worldwide. FSU-trained educators work in schools across America and internationally.
The College of Music serves as home to multiple performance groups including orchestras, bands, choirs, jazz ensembles, early music groups, 9 international music ensembles, chamber groups, the Florida State Opera, and Music Theater Program. Annually, we present approximately 350 performances and host major events like the biennial Festival of New Music, along with national conferences and workshops. Our distinguished history informs our commitment to quality and drives our pursuit of ongoing improvement. Yet our true measure lies in how we serve you - the aspiring musicians who will fill our practice rooms, lecture halls, and studios. We welcome students at every level who are committed to maximizing their professional potential. We seek individuals who will enhance FSU's vibrant musical community. And we value students who will embrace our college's welcoming atmosphere. Florida State University has maintained continuous accreditation with the National Association of Schools of Music since 1930.
