Our undergraduate teaching candidates have maintained perfect job placement for 50 consecutive years, while our alumni hold prominent positions in higher education. FSU-trained educators work throughout the United States and internationally.
The College of Music serves as home to diverse performance groups including orchestras, bands, choirs, jazz ensembles, early music groups, nine world music ensembles, chamber groups, the Florida State Opera, and the Music Theater Program. Annually, we present approximately 350 performances and host major events like the biennial Festival of New Music, along with national conferences and workshops. Our distinguished history informs our commitment to excellence while challenging us to maintain high standards. What truly matters, however, is how we serve you - the aspiring musicians who will fill our practice rooms, lecture halls, and studios. We welcome passionate students at every level who pursue professional mastery, enrich our vibrant musical community, and embrace our college's welcoming atmosphere. Florida State University has maintained continuous accreditation with the National Association of Schools of Music since 1930.
