The Humanities major aims to offer students a wide-ranging exploration across Humanities disciplines while allowing focused study in one area to prepare for advanced degrees and prevent shallow understanding. While maintaining traditional departmental structures is valuable, students can gain significant advantages from complementary concentrations like Classical Civilization, Contemporary Culture, Asian Studies, and similar fields. This curriculum not only delivers a comprehensive Liberal Arts education but also establishes an essential base for diverse careers including education, media, legal practice, library science, diplomacy, ministry, creative arts, cultural management, and public service. Additionally, as recognized by the American Association of Medical Colleges, Humanities studies form a crucial component in medical training.
