The Geography Department provides two distinct degree programs that bridge social and natural sciences: a bachelor's in Geography and a newly introduced STEM bachelor's in Environment & Society. These programs share some common ground but diverge in their focus on human-environment interactions: Geography studies how spatial factors influence human activities across urban, rural, and natural settings, whereas Environment & Society investigates the reciprocal relationship between human actions and environmental changes. Students can pursue a double major in both Geography and Environment & Society, with up to eleven overlapping credit hours permitted. Additionally, the Department features Pathways options connecting both undergraduate majors to the Applied Master's program in Geographic Information Science.
