The Master of Science in Civil Engineering program focuses on both coursework and research. Students typically concentrate on a specific civil engineering discipline, though they may also opt for a broader curriculum that integrates topics from various specializations and interdisciplinary courses.
This graduate program equips students with the skills needed for professional civil engineering practice. Candidates can choose between a thesis or non-thesis track. The thesis option requires at least six credits for research and thesis completion, while the non-thesis alternative involves a significant engineering project and report worth three credits. A coursework-only non-thesis path is also offered.
To earn the degree, students must complete 30 graduate-level credits, including mandatory courses in their chosen technical field. Grades below C do not count toward degree requirements. All degree-related work, including transfer credits, must be finished within six years prior to graduation.
