The rise in internet-connected devices and the spread of digital innovations are significantly amplifying cybersecurity risks for both government and private organizations globally, while simultaneously transforming economic, political, and social landscapes. High-profile incidents like the Equifax, Marriott, and U.S. Office of Personnel Management data leaks, along with cyberattacks such as Stuxnet, WannaCry, and NotPetya, highlight how businesses, government agencies, and nonprofits face challenges in closing critical policy gaps to enhance security. Meanwhile, cutting-edge technologies including artificial intelligence, machine learning, cloud computing, and blockchain are fueling progress and disruption, yet also demand new frameworks for oversight and management. This multidisciplinary program equips students with both technical and policy knowledge essential for careers in cybersecurity and tech governance.
