Our Radiochemistry program equips students to enter the robust local and national job market for specialists with advanced expertise in nuclear and radiological sciences. The growing significance of nuclear power generation, nuclear forensic analysis, medical imaging using radiological techniques, and the escalating challenge of nuclear waste management guarantee sustained and rising demand for PhD graduates who will oversee research and operational facilities across academic institutions, government agencies, and the nuclear industry.
Environmental initiatives involve investigating the biogeochemistry of crucial trace elements like mercury and arsenic, analyzing hydrocarbon composition in ancient sediments through SFC extraction, researching atmospheric molecules and airborne particles, photocatalytic breakdown of organophosphates, and employing spin trapping techniques to detect free radicals in samples exposed to extreme conditions.

Biomedical investigations focus on creating biologically active compounds to study enzyme functions, computational modeling of protease enzyme active sites, and exploring how diet affects macular pigment composition.
