The BSIT/MSEM combined pathway is structured as an integrated program. While pursuing this dual-degree track, students will be awarded their BSIT degree once they fulfill all its requirements. Participants have the option to exit the combined program and solely obtain the BSIT degree if they choose. Those who opt out will maintain standard graduate program admission privileges like other students, but forfeit the ability to apply the 9 shared credit hours toward both degrees.
A minimum grade of B is mandatory for all graduate courses counting toward both BSIT and MSEM requirements. Only graduate-level lecture courses qualify for dual credit. Students must verify course eligibility with their undergraduate advisors.
Prospective candidates should discuss program eligibility with their undergraduate advisor, ideally in their junior year, as strategic course planning is essential to maximize the nine-credit advantage. Before applying, students should also consult with the MSEM Program Director to understand graduate program details and available specializations. Admission to the MSEM program requires approval from the University Graduate School, based on the Engineering Management program director's recommendation. Application decisions will be communicated by both the Engineering Management Program and the University Graduate School.
