History examines humanity's past across all conceivable dimensions: economic, social, political, cultural, intellectual, scientific, and technological. Using diverse historical records, scholars construct interpretations of human experiences ranging from scientific discoveries to famines, family dynamics, mass migrations, conflicts, cultural exchanges, and revolutionary movements. Those studying history cultivate critical reading abilities, strong writing skills, and sharp analytical thinking - essential competencies for success in business, public service, professional fields, education, and graduate studies. This specialized program merges the demanding curriculum of a History Bachelor's degree with teaching methodology to equip future secondary Social Studies educators. The History B.A. with Social Studies Education combines disciplinary knowledge with practical classroom experiences, culminating in a comprehensive teaching internship. Graduates qualify for Florida's Full Teacher Certification through the State Department of Education.
