The Bachelor of Arts in History offers two specialization paths - the General Concentration (ideal for students exploring diverse career options in history) and the Pre-Credential Concentration (tailored for aspiring history educators). The BA in Public History equips students with professional skills in historical research methods for careers in public institutions like museums, archives, libraries, and historic preservation sites.
Both degree programs feature foundational courses covering U.S. and global history, along with an overview of historical research methods. Students complete their degree requirements by selecting additional history courses and interdisciplinary offerings from social sciences. Our department boasts faculty experts in various historical fields including U.S., Latin American, European, African, Asian, South Asian, Middle Eastern studies, and Egyptology.
