The History Program at Santa Barbara City College aims to equip students with core historical knowledge and foster disciplined exploration of humanity's past. The college delivers a diverse yet cohesive history curriculum, encouraging rigorous development of creative, critical, and analytical historical thinking. As a cornerstone of liberal arts education, history establishes essential groundwork for careers in business, law, education, and advanced academic pursuits.
