Florida Tech offers one of its most distinguished space science programs through the planetary science degree track, tailored for students aiming for advanced studies in space physics, geophysical sciences, and planetary sciences.
This curriculum also equips students with professional training for careers in aerospace and related fields. Founded during the early days of the US space program, Florida Tech boasts one of the nation's longest-running and most renowned space science degree offerings, including its planetary science program.
The Olin Physical Sciences Center, which houses all physics and space sciences programs, features two spacious multipurpose lecture/demonstration rooms and the Olin Observatory containing the 0.8-m Ortega Telescope. Faculty members participate in major NASA missions like Kepler, Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, and Cassini, while researching celestial bodies from Mercury to the Kuiper Belt and beyond.
