Physics aims to uncover the basic principles or natural laws that shape our universe and utilize these principles to understand both simple and intricate systems. The Physics Department provides degree programs in physics, astrophysics, and applied physics. These curricula equip students for graduate studies in physics and astronomy, technical roles in industry, or careers in education. When combined with coursework from other fields, these majors offer strong foundations for advanced studies in areas like biology, engineering, geophysics, and philosophy of science. The applied physics program particularly prepares graduates for immediate entry into industrial positions.
