The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) program prepares students for professional careers in geology, hydrogeology, and environmental consulting. This curriculum also serves as a strong foundation for pursuing advanced studies in geology, geosciences, and environmental science.
Our flexible programs let students mix traditional and online courses while participating in diverse research opportunities, both locally in South Florida and internationally. The Geosciences Department provides undergraduate degrees, including Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) and Bachelor of Science (B.S.) options with concentrations in Geography or Geology. Additional offerings include GIS Certificate Programs, minors in Geography or Geology, and Geographic Information Science. Below are detailed descriptions of degree paths and requirements. A minimum grade of C is mandatory for all department courses counting toward degree completion. Both B.A. and B.S. candidates must also fulfill the University's foreign language requirement.
