The Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) in Civil Engineering offers advanced training in civil engineering subjects, management principles, and professional practice. This program suits both part-time learners and full-time students seeking to complete their master's in just one year.
Specialization courses allow students to deepen their expertise in a particular civil engineering field beyond undergraduate studies. Most specialization coursework should come from the Civil and Environmental Engineering department, with at least 15 credit hours required for the M.Eng. degree.
Complementary electives help students build multidisciplinary skills essential for civil engineering careers. These may include courses from other civil engineering specialties or relevant subjects like science, mathematics, business, law, or urban planning. The curriculum mandates a minimum of 12 credit hours in supplementary electives.
Since quantitative abilities are vital in civil engineering, students must complete at least one mathematics, statistics, or computational science course (minimum 3 credit hours).
