Our Science Education program equips future teachers to instruct science for grades 6-12. Students can choose from three specialized paths: 1) Physics Education, 2) Chemistry Education, or 3) Biology Education. This discipline focuses on employing observation, experimentation, and analysis to explore and explain the natural and physical world through teaching and learning.
Beyond their selected specialization (biology, chemistry, or physics), Science Education majors will gain expertise in these additional areas:
Psychological principles including learning processes, motivation, personality development, and evaluation methods, The evolution of the U.S. education system across all levels, Cultural competency training for working in diverse communities, Educational theories and philosophies, Effective communication skills, among other essential topics.
