Religion encompasses organized systems of beliefs, practices, and traditions, typically centered around devotion to a higher power or supernatural being. Philosophy, derived from the Greek for "love of wisdom," fundamentally explores questions of existence, reasoning, knowledge, ethics, and consciousness. The Philosophy and Religion program caters to students focusing on either discipline, fostering critical analysis of major philosophical and religious perspectives (including their historical, cultural, social, and practical significance). It aims to enhance students' logical and reflective thinking abilities while helping them develop a personal worldview.
This program also serves as excellent preparation for graduate studies in various fields including law, education, global affairs, governance, history of ideas, philosophical research, religious scholarship, and theological studies.
